Terms of Service

The Hangout Family · Torn City · Last updated: 16 October 2026

These Terms govern your use of the services The Hangout Family runs for Torn City players: The Hangout Revive Bot, The Hangout Merc Bot, and the pages and panels on thehangout.site (together, the "Services"). By adding one of our bots to a Discord server, opening a contract with us, working a contract as a member, or signing in to a panel on this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

The Hangout Family is a group of Torn City factions. The Services are hobby projects run by and for its members and the players who hire us. They are free to add and free to use; some of them arrange in-game work that is paid for in game, between players, as set out below. No real money changes hands anywhere in the Services.

2. Eligibility

You must meet the minimum age and other requirements of both Discord and Torn, and you must follow Torn's rules and Discord's Terms of Service at all times while using the Services. You are responsible for everything done through your Discord and Torn accounts in connection with the Services.

3. What the bots do

4. Contracts, work and payment

A contract is an arrangement between players, in Torn. The bots record what was agreed and what was delivered; they do not hold, transfer, escrow, or guarantee anything of value.

5. Working for us

Revivers and mercs are Hangout members who opt in. To take paid work you must hold the relevant role, which a Hangout manager grants, and you must add a Torn API key with enough access for us to confirm the work you claim (see the Privacy Policy). Claiming work you did not do, or claiming the same work twice, ends your access to the desk. Roles and access can be removed at any time, with or without a reason given.

6. Acceptable use

7. No warranty

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind and no guarantee of availability. Counts, timings, prices and activity figures are derived from the Torn API and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed. Check any figure before you act on it, including before you pay.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Hangout Family and the people who run these Services are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, them — including in-game losses, payment disputes, hospital time, lost items, missed contracts, data loss, or downtime. The Services are free to use, and your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using them.

9. Not affiliated with Torn or Discord

Our bots are independent fan-made tools. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Torn, its owners, or Discord. "Torn" and "Discord" are the property of their respective owners.

10. Suspension & termination

We may suspend, restrict, or discontinue any of the Services at any time — including to deal with misuse or to protect the Services or their users. You may stop using them at any time by removing the bot from your server, closing your contracts, and removing any API key you added.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Services change. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept it.

12. Contact

Questions, disputes and data requests: message b0rjara on Discord, or ask in The Hangout's Discord server.
